Old Photographs
Pick up an antique photograph at a flea market or junk store and sit with it for a while. Scrutinize it. Study the background, the objects, the clothing, the expressions on people’s faces. Then, write. You could simply describe the elements you see, or you could create a story that revolves around the people, the place or the scene the photo depicts. Be careful, though. Collecting antique photos may become a bit of an obsession (ahem).
